Operating Hours
Weather permitting, coverage will be from about 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day from about August 15th till December.

Note: We report using Standard Time all year long. Note that during Daylight Savings Time the local time would be one hour later than standard time. For example 9:00 a.m. Daylight Savings Time will be recorded as 8:00 a.m. on Hawk Count.

Coverage will be "casual" from late November through December, meaning that counters have discretion to cover on less favorable days for a flight. Remember that hours will be dictated by the weather and sometimes the winds.

If it is raining or the weather is unconducive for a flight then we will be closed. The spring count is trickier and usually starts around mid-February and ends the beginning of May.
